Influenster! Sugar 'N Spice VoxBox 2013

Thursday, March 28, 2013

So, I'm not sure if you guys have heard of Influenster or not, but here's the deal: they're awesome.

Really. It's as simple as that.

You may be asking, "But Courtney! What is it?" Well, let me explain a little. Influenster is a free-to-join community of invited members (invited by friends, mind you - so if you want an invite I may still have a few left!) who love to give their opinion about products/services/experiences/things/etc. Using all of the various social medias out there as well as on Infulenster's website, you get to get your voice out there about things and products you love or hate. And, if you participate actively, sometimes you're invited to register for other fun incentives and rewards. Yep, there are perks to being an Influenster.

VoxBoxes just happen to be one of these awesome perks. VoxBoxes are packages shipped to you (for free!) full of items to review. It's as simple as that: you sign up, they ship you a box, you review the heck out of it. Sounds awesome, right?

It is.

So, I got one of those boxes in the mail recently full of awesome things. They call this one the Influenster Suger 'N SPice VoxBox. It's full of "sugar and spice and everything nice!"

And this post? This is my review of its' contents.

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer: Total Moisture
(6.5 oz can, $7.99 retail)

I cannot say enough good things about this moisturizer. It contains pure oat extract so it smells amazing and it leaves my skin so soft. Softer than almost any other moisturizer that I have ever tried. And it's a spray one, so it goes on easy, you rub it in, and it's dry in seconds. I have been going around to the girls I work with and having them try it too, just to make sure I'm not crazy - and they keep coming back to me to have some after they've showered or shaved to use it!

If you're in the market for a new moisturizer/lotion? Look no further - this one is tops!

NECTRESSE
(40 packets, $3.99 retail)

I'm very, very hesitant to use anything other than real sugar in my coffee or cooking. Very. I never, ever use anything fake - I figure, there are so many other chemicals in things that I'm ingesting that I can try and limit some of those things. So real sugar for this girl. But when I looked up the one ingredient I didn't know on the list for NECTRESSE? I learned that everything in this sugar substitute is all-natural. And that's pretty cool. So I tried it.

And, as the box told me: I could substitute one Nectresse packet for my usual 2 teaspoons of sugar. So I tried it. And? They were right! It made my coffee just the way I liked it with half the physical amount of sweetener. And, even better? 0 calories. Love. I'd totally recommend this to anyone looking to switch up their sweetener preferences.

Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes
(20-count Box, $5.99 retail)
This picture JUST WON'T ROTATE. Ugh. Sorry!
Here's another product that I've shared with the girls I work with - I just loved them that much!

What's really nice about these wipes is that they're individually wrapped, so each towelette stays very wet. This also makes them super portable - you can throw one in your gym bag for right after your work out or keep a few handy in the car in case you're off to a meeting or something else and you want to look fresh.

These wipes leave your face feeling super clean and soft. Between the witch hazel and the aloe you're guaranteed very moisturized skin! It even says that this combination helps to rejuvenate your skin, which is pretty cool. Not that I'm old enough yet to really worry about wrinkles, but I think that these may keep that time in life further at bay!

Basically? The skin on my face feels awesome, and there's not much more you can ask from a face wipe!

Colgate Optic White Regimen

Because, who doesn't love bright, clean pearly whites? I used these products for 5 days (as recommended) and did see some result!

Colgate Optic White Toothbrush
($2.99 per brush, retail)

I've recently (in the last 6 months) converted to an electric toothbrush. But, I decided to give this one a go, because the concept was neat: a toothbrush that aides in the whitening process. I can't give the credit solely to the toothbrush, but it was a good one! It's totally going into my travel bag for future use!

Colgate Optic White Toothpaste
(4oz tube, 2.99 retail)

This toothpaste is amazing: my teeth are whiter and it tasted like your normal, minty and delicious toothpaste. It also didn't leave my teeth feeling sensitive to hot or cold like some other whitening products have left me feeling in the past.

Colgate Optic White Mouthwash
(8oz bottle, $2.99 retail)

This was the only thing in my VoxBox that I wasn't a huge fan of. Yes, I want a bright beautiful, smile, but I can go about it without having to use this rinse. The reason? It tasted awful. I used it for the recommended 5 days and, yes, my teeth are whiter. But it's not worth the taste for the 60seconds of swishing it around in your mouth.

belVita Breakfast Biscuits
(Box of 5 packets of 4 biscuits, $3.69 retail)

I was hesitant with these. Why?

Breakfast bars are not usually delicious or fun to eat. But I decided to try these one morning before an early yoga class because I wanted something in my stomach but not a huge meal (which would make yoga difficult to get through!).

And? These biscuits are both delicious and filling! And I felt great though my yoga class - energy from the food but not gross or sick from eating close to exercising. I will totally be picking up a box of these to eat before my early morning workout classes - or just for a regular snack! They're wonderful and tasty and good for you!
