And Thinking -- Come Back Home

" ... But sometimes when the springtime comes,
And the sifting moonlight falls --
They'll think again of this night here
And of these old brown walls,
Of while old well, and of old South
With bell's deep booming tone,
They'll think again of Chapel Hill and --
Thinking -- come back home."
[Thomas Wolffe, UNC 1920]

So, I'm sitting in my old library on the campus of my favorite-place-in-the-whole-wide-world doing research. Well, trying to do research. Mainly I'm lamenting my decision to move from my favorite-place-in-the-whole-wide-world and scheming of ways to find my way back here again. I cannot think of a place I would much rather be than wandering around in the sunshine and the Carolina blue sky in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Seriously, how could you not want to be here?

  1. I got my package-Thanks! I love it! I will mention it on my blog this week...I'm just back from a few days away so not too organized on my blog yet : )

    Thanks again!

  2. I felt the same way about college (also in NC. Went to Davidson). It's good to get away and keep college as that beautiful picture in your mind. The transition post-student life is so hard, I don't know if you'd want it to happen in the place you love so much.

  3. Confession: Chapel Hill is in my top five places I'd like to move to. For reals!

  4. Beautiful campus! I've never been to Chapel Hill, but I have a nephew that lives in Raleigh, and one of my brothers went to grad school at NCState! Came over to visit via Joyce!
