Ex-Pat Festivities: Thanksgiving

Sunday, November 21, 2010

Right now, I'm trying to figure out where my ability to focus has gone. Have any of you seen it? With the end of the semester approaching (!!!!), it's actually quite a vital component of survival. How else am I supposed to write these papers and study when TV shows and movies I've been missing out on look so tempting? And naps, they're looking pretty awesome right now too. And going for runs, and reading (fun) books, and painting my toenails, and....

Oh well, I'm gonna go write a paper - but I will leave you with something I haven't left you with in a while: Pictures! I will have to do a few posts later on pictures I didn't post right after the events happened, but for today you get pictures from our Ex-Pat Thanksgiving Dinner last night!

It was a whole lot of fun - and went a lot smoother than last year. Which is saying something, because last year went so smooth too! But this time we knew how long it would take to cook things in a foreign oven, where and how to get the ingredients we needed, and what foods people would try/eat and what they wouldn't. It was a great night sharing one of our favorite traditional holidays with friends (who brought along traditional treats with them too: Hungarian cakes with poppy seeds, an aubergine salad/spread from Romania, etc).

Happy (early) Thanksgiving to everyone!
