How NOT To Write A Thesis {Vol.3}

Sunday, May 15, 2011

COUNTDOWN:
(for those playing along at home)

1 week
1 day

Due: 23 May

-----

Volume Three brings us to an important topic:
Naps

They say that you only do good work when you're well rested.
Naps make you well rested, right?

I mean, my brain always feels more refreshed after a nap
(and then a cup of coffee, a snack, and some music to settle me into writing)

But it's that dang snooze button
(btw. 'snooze' ? strangest looking word ever.)

My half hour naps end up as hour-and-a-half naps.

So, the question is then,
to nap, or not to nap?

How NOT To Write A Thesis {Vol.2}

Thursday, May 12, 2011

Ah, procrastination may be the death of me
(or at least this thesis!)

So, in volume two of
How NOT To Write A Thesis
I give you: EMAIL

---

You know how sometimes when you have deadlines approaching,
you let emails sit in your inbox and say you'll get around to them
when you've finally turned in that project?

well, one certain way to take time away from your work?
Open up your inbox and vow to get it down under 20.

This is even better when it was over 50 before you started...
Even better when the emails that require a 1 line reply
wind up getting a few paragraphs about what's going on in your life,
and your "plans" for after you turn in your thesis.

Seriously.
Replying to emails is important, right?

...Right?

I really guess 'log into blogger' ought to be my first post,
but, let's just ignore that fact okay?
You know, that little fact,
that writing a blog post about procrastination on the thesis
is in itself procrastination?
Yeah, let's forget that one, deal?
